The Blugolds headed into the WCCHA Tournament in Blaine, MN as the third seed. This pitted them against Northern Michigan University. The Blugolds have never beaten NMU before, but that would change as UWEC took the first game by a score of 3-2. Moving on to the semifinals, the Blugolds took on St. Thomas, the overall number two seed in the tournament, and also a team that swept them earlier in the year. An up and down game ensued, but UWEC couldn't break through, and lost 3-2, sending them to the third place game. A win in the third place game would give the team a record for most wins in a season, along with the highest finish ever at the WCCHA Tournament. Waldorf College lost a thriller to Saint Cloud State, setting up a hotly contested third place game. The Blugolds meant business, and took care of Waldorf by a score of 4-1, securing a third place finish.
The team finished with a record of 14-8-1, one win better than their 2012-2013 campaign. The win in the third place game set the team record for highest finish at the tournament, two places better than their showing at the 2013 WCCHA Tournament, where they won consolation by beating St. Thomas.
Heading into the off-season and next year, sophomore Austin Oungst will be taking over as President of the team. Current President Dan Michaelson and Co-Treasurer Jon Roessler will be graduating. Junior Matt Stover will assume full control over the Treasurer role. Junior Ryan Theiler was voted in before the WCCHA Tournament as the new Vice President, taking over the role Oungst vacated.
